Get Started 


The instructions below are designed to walk you through creating an instant meeting using the Zoom desktop app and then sharing the recording with individuals.

  1. Login to Zoom and select New Meeting

2. Navigate to the security button on the Zoom toolbar and select Lock Meeting.  Zoom Lock Meeting .png

3. Click on the Unmute and Start Video icons to activate the camera and microphones.

NOTE: Each room type will also require the user to select the correct audio and camera source.

Via Email:

  1. Once the recording has been processed (typically with an hour), the host will receive an email with a link that can be shared with individuals.

Via Zoom:

  1. Login to Rice University's Zoom Site Links to an external site.,  select Recordings, and the name of the meeting
  2. Zoom Recordings Select Copy Sharable Link. the link is now copied to your clipboard and you can paste it anywhere you chose to save it. Additionally, you can select the Share button, select your sharing options, and see the sharing link there.
